UPDATE: If you still need a room for the weekend, as of May 20th, we have 3-4 more Native King rooms ($179/night) on hold at El Monte Sagrado (575) 758-3502, the big resort in town which is very close to the Palacio de Marquesa (and they happen to own it as well). The rooms are being held under the reservation name "Miles Baraff" so when you call just say that there are some rooms with that reservation name on hold and you'd simply like to change the name to yours (insert your name here).
Welcome to our interactive and hopefully updated site! Below you'll find some words to help you navigate the fabulous burgh of Taos, NM during the weekend of June 17-19, 2016.
Taos, NM : Getting to the Mountains
Taos is situated in northern New Mexico amidst the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The usual way of getting there from "out of town" is to fly into Albuquerque, NM (airport code: ABQ) and either rent a car or take a shuttle to Taos. It's about a 2-hour drive north. You'll pass through (or just skirt) world-famous Santa Fe on the way and be treated to views of the rolling vistas of the high desert.
As for the mountains... Taos is beautiful, charming and high altitude! While the tiny, adobe filled hamlet is as picturesque as it gets, it's truly "up in the mountains" -- at over 6900 feet of elevation -- so be aware of this when you arrive. Drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your alcoholic intake (not to discourage any fun!).
Palacio de Marquesa : How to Get to the Wedding Site
The Palacio de Marquesa is a quaint, small boutique hotel just off the main drag in Taos. It's situated in a residential neighborhood and unfortunately doesn't have extra space for vehicles once we take over the grounds for the wedding dinner. So, we kindly and politely ask that our dear friends park at El Monte Sagrado Resort which is about a half-mile away. We will have a shuttle that can and will take you to the Palacio de Marquesa and back after dinner and entertainment.
Rehearsal Dinner : Come One, Come All.
Thanks to Rick's mother everyone is invited to the rehearsal dinner on Friday, June 17! It will be at The Love Apple restaurant (an old moniker for a tomato!) restaurant at 803 Paseo del Pueblo Norte, Taos (about a mile or so north of the plaza). Just let us know if you're "In" via your Reply Card and we'll see you at the Apple!
Although your presence is present enough, Rick and Courtney are registered HERE.
